Twitter Update

I've been using my personal twitter account for a while now and I've decided to create one especially for my blog. This is where I will be posting any updates on new posts as well as taking part in the #bbloggers chat.

If you'd like to follow me, my new link is https://twitter.com/fearlessblog. I'm online quite a lot so if you want to chat or message me on there I should reply pretty quickly!

Also, I just want to say thanks for the support so far, I never thought my blog would be followed by 2 people, let alone 40! It means a lot that people are liking what I'm writing about :)

Job Hunting

This post is a little more chatty than usual so I'd like to apologise in advance if none of this makes sense!

At the moment I'm currently unemployed. I had a temporary Christmas retail job which unfortunately I didn't get kept on at so I'm on the hunt for something else. The thing is, it's so hard to find a job these days! Now, I know I'm not really in a position to be too fussy about where I work but I'm looking to branch out of retail yet it's a very hard thing to do. I'd love to have a nice office job, have my own desk with a computer and telephone and interact with people using these methods. A typical "9 to 5" job if you will. It just seems that these types of jobs all require some form of experience. Whether it's certain qualifications ie a degree, or having worked for a similar company before, there's little chance of anyone with a retail background like mine to get hired. Now, I know it does happen but very rarely. Training would be good, yet very few companies offer this. It's time consuming and if they can hire someone who already has the skills, why bother offering any form of training?

When I was in school and had to think about what I wanted to do as a career, I always came up with journalism. It sounded great- writing for a magazine, working in that office style environment, always busy. Then I changed my mind. Biggest mistake ever. Now I regret not studying towards that goal as it's one of the toughest markets to break into without qualifications or experience.

I'm completely at a loss about what I can do and it's really starting to get me down lately. I've applied for quite a few jobs but so far I've had no responses back. I may not have the right qualifications but when it comes to other aspects (confidence, good telephone manner, IT literate etc) I'm doing quite well. I guess I just need to keep trying and see what happens.

NOTD | Lilac (GO)

Lilac (GO) is a lovely lilac shade with a gold shimmer from the make up range by Marks & Spencer. It's one of my favourite colours and it's definitely my go-to shade when I want to paint my nails. I'm wearing two coats of this plus a top coat, it does dry fairly shiny but I tend to smudge my nails before they're dry so I always add a top coat just to be safe!

Unfortunately this colour doesn't seem to be available any more but I've included the link to the other colours as at £3.50 these are an absolute bargain and the range of colours is very good!

What's your favourite nail polish?

I'm thinking of doing a nail polish collection series at some point, would that be something you'd be interested in? Let me know! :)

Top Five YouTube Channels

YouTube is one of the websites I always have open when I'm on my laptop. I'm subscribed to quite a few people but I thought today I would share my Top Five Youtubers you should definitely subscribe to, if you're not already that is! These are in no particular order, just the five I visit regularly.

Louise | YouTube Twitter

1. Sprinkleofglitter

I'm sure most of you will have heard of this lovely lady but if you haven't, why not?! Louise is one of the happiest ladies in the YouTube world, her videos are always fun to watch, nice selection of life and beauty and she quite possibly has the CUTEST daughter in the world! Louise also has a blog which you can find at sprinkleofglitter.blogspot.co.uk :)

Zoe YouTube | Twitter

2. Zoella280390

If you're already subscribed to Louise then Zoe will be familiar to you as they are best friends and feature in a lot of each others videos. Zoe does a lot of beauty/fashion videos and hauls, as well as some more serious videos like this video about dealing with panic attacks and anxiety, which got a great response. Zoe is also a blogger, her link is www.zoella.co.uk.

BethanyYouTube | Twitter

3. Macbarbie07

Bethany is always so positive and upbeat in all her videos, she comes across as a very genuine person so she's great to watch. As well as the usual beauty/fashion tutorials and hauls, Bethany also does a lot of DIY videos, her latest one being how to make your own hair bows :)

BunnyYouTube | Twitter

4. Grav3yardgirl

This lady has a very unique sense of style, which is what makes her stand out to me from a lot of other beauty youtubers. Bunny is hilarious in all of her videos, I love to just sit and watch her chat away in her "tea vlogs".

Carrie YouTube | Twitter

5. ItsWayPastMyBedtime

Carrie is absolutely wonderful to watch. She does a lot of vlogs about her life, as well as showcasing her amazing singing voice! Probably one of the most down to earth ladies on YouTube :)

What do you think of my top five? Are you already subscribed to these channels or have I introduced you to some new favourites?

Wanderlust

Wanderlust A very strong or irresistible impulse to travel.

This is definitely something I've had for a while now. I'd love to explore the world, visit different cities and get hundreds of great photos to remember all of my adventures. I've been thinking about where I'd like to visit and these are the first few places on my list (in no particular order):

PARIS

One of the most beautiful cities in the world. Everything about this draws me in- the sights, the architecture, the (summer) weather. It's fairly close to the UK and quite easy to get to by plane, coach & ferry or by train. Definitely going to look into visiting sometime this year.

DISNEYLAND (FLORIDA)

This has been high up on my list for years! I know most people go when they're a lot younger but I've never had the chance so being the huge Disney fan that I am this would probably be one of my greatest holidays ever! I have young nieces and nephews so once they are a little bit older we're all going on a family holiday. This should be within the next four years so I'd best get saving!

BRIGHTON

Yes, Brighton. I've already been here before (the picture I've used is one of my own I took when I was there back in 2009, as well as loving Disney I also really love merry-go-rounds). I spent a week here with some friends and it is definitely one of my favourite places in the UK. It's a really fun city, loads of places to visit (we did the sightseeing tour bus, which was pretty interesting) and plenty of entertainment. It's one place I know I'm definitely going back to this year so I'm looking forward to more exploring and getting some more photos.

What would be your dream holiday destination? Already planning for a holiday this year?

January Wishlist

Beautysets - Wishlist Jan 2013

1.Bag, £25 River Island 2.Nail Polish in Rising Star, £6 Topshop 3.iPad, £380 Amazon 4.Life of Pi, £3.85 Amazon 5.Cat Print Tunic, £22.99 New Look

This months wishlist is definitely a bit of a mixture! I've been after a bag for a while and this one from River Island caught my eye. I wanted one with a long strap so this would be perfect, the neutral colour would work well with a lot of things too. I have so many glitter polishes already but this particular one has star shaped pieces in it! What more could you want?

The iPad is certainly more of an "I wish" item on here, as I'm no where near able to afford one right now. Hopefully some time this year I'll be picking one of these up though!

What items are you looking forward to getting this month?

Redecorating

As it's a new year I've decided now would be a good time to start changing things in my life, in this case just moving the furniture around in my bedroom. Now, this is where things get a little tricky. My room is by no means tiny but it's not exactly overflowing with extra space either so it's difficult to fit everything in when I move it all around from it's current layout.

When I need some inspiration, I always find myself going to Pinterest, so I thought I'd share a few of my favourite Bedroom ideas that I've found recently.

Hope you're all having a great 2013 so far :)

Hello 2013

The beginning of a new year, which means it's time to start thinking about those resolutions! This year I have quite a few, which I am going to try hard to stick to over the next 12 months. I know that gets said every year but I'm already certain that 2013 will be the year of change!

New Years Resolutions 2013

Be more positive, try not to get so jealous and don't let the little, insignificant things bother me
Get a job I enjoy
Save more money
Go on more holidays and have more adventures
Complete my Goodreads 2013 Reading Challenge of 40 books*
Redecorate my bedroom and make it a place I enjoy being in
Do more things I love
Work on my photography and save enough to buy a better camera
Blog more often

So those are my resolutions for this year. I'm thinking it would be an interesting idea to do a recap of these every few months to see how I'm getting on and whether I've stuck to any of them or not!

*If you have a Goodreads account, feel free to add me so if you are also participating in this challenge we can see how well we're doing :) my profile can be found HERE.

What are your resolutions for this year and will you be sticking to them?
